Guatemala Antigua
- Vendor: Hunter Bay
- Type: Single Origin
Light Roast: The Antigua region of Guatemala is one of the world’s premier coffee-growing regions, consistently producing strictly hard bean (SHB) coffees with superb aroma, body and flavor.
Naturally shade gown in rich volcanic soil, Hunter Bay’s Guatemala Antigua is a sweet, medium bodied cup with an initial brightness that is quickly balanced by rich chocolate flavors and followed by a long, spicy-sweet aftertaste. Delicious any time of day, we especially like the bright spicy flavor and smooth, sweet finish of Guatemala Antigua on a cold afternoon paired with a freshly baked gingersnap cookie or a slice of warm spice cake. This is a brew of unexpected richness that you’ll relish from first sip to satisfying finish.
Roasting Notes:
Antiguas are often roasted medium-dark to balance acidity and body, but we feel that Guatemala Antigua is best roasted to a light Full City to accentuate the coffee’s brightness and enhance the natural spicy-sweet flavors.
